Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It often causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples, and usually appears on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages.

Acne Scar Treatment
What’s the Procedure:
Acne scar treatment involves a combination of dermatological procedures aimed at improving the appearance of atrophic, pigmented, or hypertrophic scars left by acne.
Mechanism:
Depending on scar type, a customized combination of treatments is used—microneedling (with or without PRP), Fractional RF-AURA, fractional CO2 laser, subcision, TCA CROSS, or chemical peels. These stimulate collagen remodeling and resurface the skin.
Indications:
Boxcar, icepick, and rolling acne scars
Pigmented post-acne marks
Uneven skin texture due to scarring
Depressed or tethered scars
Anaesthesia Required or Not:
Yes. Topical anesthesia is typically used. Subcision may require local infiltration.
Painful or Not:
Mild discomfort depending on procedure. Well tolerated with numbing.
What to Expect from the Treatment:
Gradual improvement in scar depth and texture over 4–6 sessions
Mild redness or scabbing post-procedure
Best results after combination treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart
Who Can Do:
Anyone with acne scarring and no active breakouts.
When It Can Be Done:
Best during non-summer months. Sun protection is crucial post-treatment.
